About Us
CESS is a small student-run organization that holds various events each term including:
- Coffee houses
- Barbecues
- Industry and on-campus tours
- Meet the profs (our infamous event each term where students, profs and department staff come out to mingle in a casual environment)
Our office in DWE provides a meeting place for students to network, a place for upper years to provide mentorship to first years and a place for students to hang out in between classes. We also send a few students each year to chemical engineering conferences.
The offical objectives of our society are:
- To serve as the official undergraduate organization of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Waterloo.
- To represent the interests of its members in relations with the Department of Chemical Engineering Administration, the Federation of Students, and student organizations of other faculties and universities.
- To cultivate a spirit of mutual assistance and co-operation among its members.
- To promote and co-ordinate the cultural, academic, athletic and social activities of the members of the Society.
- To provide extra services as desired by the members of the Society.
